Gayatri Mantra
The Gayatri Mantra is one of the oldest known mantra. It originates from the Rig-Veda, a sacred text of India dating back almost 5,000 years.
The mantra produces a pure and rhythmical vibration which saturates the consciousness with peace and calm that enhances creativity and intuition.
A wonderful interpretation of the mantra is performed by Deva Premal and Miten.
"Om bhur'bhuvah svah tatsaviturvarenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah prachodyat"- Om = Brahma or Almighty God
- bhuh = embodiment of vital spiritual energy (Pran)
- bhuvah = destroyer of sufferings
- svah = embodiment of happiness
- tat = that
- savituh = bright, luminous like the Sun
- varenyam = best, most exalted
- bhargo = destroyer of sins
- devasya = divine
- dhimahi = may imbibe
- dhiyo = intellect

- nah = our
- prachodyat = may inspire
The Gayatri Mantra prayer to the Almighty Supreme God, the Creator of entire cosmos, the essence of our life existence, who removes all our pains and sufferings and grants happiness beseeching His divine grace to imbibe within us His Divinity and Brilliance which purifies us and guides our righteous wisdom on the right path.
